Worship With Us

What To Expect

For over 2,000 years, the central act of Christian worship has been the Holy Eucharist (also called Holy Communion, the Lord’s Supper, or the Mass).

We believe we encounter our Lord’s Real Presence in the Eucharist and that we receive His Body and Blood at Communion. Therefore, communicants should examine themselves and be in love and charity with their neighbors. A communicant should fast before receiving the Eucharist. If someone is conscious of a grave sin in their life, they should arrange for the sacrament of Reconciliation with the priest before receiving the Eucharist.

All are welcome to our celebration of the Holy Eucharist. As the Eucharist is a sign and assurance of unity with Christ and His Church, if you are not a Christian, it would not be appropriate to receive the Sacrament, but we invite you to pray with us in the pews.

If you are a baptized Christian but are not confirmed by a Bishop in Apostolic Succession, we invite you to come to the Altar rail for a blessing by the priest. Please cross your arms over your chest as a sign that you wish to be blessed.

As a visitor, we do not expect you to know all the gestures and postures. We invite you to take part at your comfort level, or simply to observe for the first few times you come. A visitor’s guide to the liturgy is available as well. This booklet walks through the liturgy, gives directions, and explains the significance of why we do what we do. There is also a video found here that explains our liturgy.

If you have any questions before or after visiting, please contact Fr. Matt: harlowmatthew@gmail.com
